Create an Anthropic API Key

Blazebar needs an API key to talk to Claude models. This takes about 2 minutes. You'll need an Anthropic account.

Open the API Keys page

Go to platform.claude.com/settings/keys and log in. Click Create Key.

Name your key

In the dialog, give your key a name (e.g. Blazebar). Select your workspace and click Create Key.

Copy your key

Your key is shown only once. Click Copy and save it somewhere safe. It starts with sk-ant-...

Keep a record of the key below. You won't be able to view it again.

Paste it into Blazebar

Open Blazebar settings (click the menu bar icon → Settings), select Anthropic as your provider, and paste your API key.

Tip: Blazebar stores your key securely in the macOS Keychain and sends it only to Anthropic — never to Blazebar's servers.

Add API credits

Anthropic's API is pay-as-you-go. Go to Plans & Billing, click Buy Credits, and load at least $5.

You're all set.
